Attendance was about 40 on this very hot and humid day with a bright sun in the west.

The referee called a water break at the 12 minute mark. There weren't any other breaks structured but players had dropped a lot of water bottles just outside the lines so they could find one on throw-ins, injuries or breaks in the action. Riverhounds had played less than 24 hours earlier when they lost 3-1 to K-W United in Kitchener and that may be part of the reason the Lynx improved in the second half as the visitors wilted in the heat. Lynx wore gray (not black) letting the visitors wear black in the heat.

Referee Brian Butler only gave out Yellow cards during second half injury time. He gave out one to each team for a pushing incident that broke out when the Lynx had a cornerkick and took it short so they could freeze it in the corner. The third was a minute later when a Lynx player kicked a ball after the whistle to waste more time.

Lynx had only five players listed as subs. Their U-20 team played here before the start of this game and beat Grand Rapids Crew 4-3. Lynx are in first place out of seven in their conference. The Crew wear the same uniforms as the MLS team. Anthony Novak scored at least once for the Lynx in that game and played the entire 90 minutes and was listed as a sub for the PDL game but fortunately wasn't called into this game. Head coach Duncan Wilde had been Red carded in the Lynx last game against FC London on Wednesday and wasn't here but I asked and was told he was away with their Academy teams in Indiana.

This was the first home win for the Lynx this season. Their record improves to 2 wins, 6 losses, 2 ties for 5th place in the Great Lakes Division. Riverhounds are one place behind them in last place with a record of 1 win, 7 losses, and 1 tie. Their one win was their home game against the Lynx by a 2-1 score.

A guy from one of the sports betting sites was at today's game. He said he'd been to the Wednesday game too. One of his rivals was at the last Lady Lynx home game.
