Result and details of the Saturday November 8, 2014 Division 3 Pro Inter-Provincial Cup game between Toronto FC Academy of League 1 Ontario and CS Longueuil of the Premier League of Soccer Quebec (PLSQ) played at the Pickering Soccer Centre in Pickering at 8:00pm. This was the second leg of that contest.

12 min...CSL Houle is bumped over on right side of box by TFCA Robertson but no Penalty kick is given.
13 min...CSL Nkurunzinza cross from 25 yards on right has CSL Ourzdine chest down ball and shoot 22 yarder down middle high and right of net.
14 min...TFCA Osorio can't draw Penalty kick on check on right side of CSL box.
15 min...TFCA Nunes throw-in from right is cleared in CSL box.

Attendance was about 225 on this cold and wet night but it didn't matter because this game was held indoors at the brand new Pickering Soccer Centre. There were about 15 or 20 fans from TFC supporter groups.

There were surprisingly few chances to score in this game. Longueuil did not press although they must have known they started the game with a four goal deficit. I was expecting TFCA would get more chances when they subbed in Molham Babouli who was League 1 Ontario's MVP and Golden Boot winner at 61 minutes. With him and started Stefan Vukovic at forward which the team rarely used together during league play I thought now TFCA would rip things open but the team couldn't find the net.

Gilbert Bayiha who also acted as captain earned the shutout for Longueuil playing quite aggressively jumping for every cross into the box and coming out to break up any through ball passes before they developed. Filippo DiBennardo earned the shutout for TFCA with only a few key saves but not much to do.

Best non-scoring chances were at 33 seconds when TFCA Matt Stowell got to a pass and shot a low 20 yarder from the right that the goalie made a great sliding foot save and gave up a cornerkick. 84 minutes had Longueuil Cedric Carrie roll a pass through the defence over to the left for Moise Nkurunzinza to shoot low from 12 yards that the goalie made a sliding save at 5 yards. One minute later TFCA Marco Rodriguez took a 30 yard freekick down the middle that the goalie flew over to the top left corner to push the ball wide of the post.

Referee Justin Tasev gave out four Yellow cards that I counted—three to Longueuil in a game that wasn't rough. Lots of guys helped their opponents up if they'd knocked them over. Tasev didn't give any Penalty kicks on a few bumps in the box which both teams committed.

David Gee, an adminstrator for the Ontario Soccer League, said this was the first ever game held on these grounds. An an indoor league game that was supposed to happen this afternoon was cancelled. This scoreless game meant that no one has scored at this facility yet and it sure won't be at this level. The scoreboard clock that League 1 Ontario brought stopped working at 68 minutes. League chair Dino Rossi Jr said there was no power yet on the wall of the south side sideline (until next week) and so they had the scoreboard on battery power which ran out. At least there were no tears developing in this facility. Huge high ceiling, there will be no hitting the roof on punts downfield. The turf I could feel was superior to any of the fields I've felt in Toronto including BMO. When I stepped on the turf, I left a footprint on it for two or three seconds until it disappeared. Bouncy castle feel, bright lights and new.

Toronto FC Academy were presented with the winner's trophy and defender/captain Mark Anthony Kaye of TFCA won the tournament's MVP award for his combined good play over the two games. He scored one of the goals last week. He broke up a lot of Longueuil plays tonight.
