Masters FA Saints kept up their good run of play, and did the double over Durham United F.C., winning 2-1 at home
Saturday on goals from strikers Alex Dimitriu and Leshaw Woods-Henry.

Dimitriu had scored a few weeks ago when Saints travelled to Pickering in much warmer weather to beat United 3-1.

The seventeen-year-old forward now has six goals on the season for Saints, after he collected a rare spill
from veteran United keeper Eugene Alves to score the game’s first goal in Scarborough.

“I’ve been scoring a lot lately, and I’ve just got to keep scoring,” said Dimitriu after the match.

He added that the Saints, who have been winning a lot more than they’ve been losing over the past month,
have got to keep it up to finish out the season.

The team has one league game left.

“We gotta work on putting the ball in the back of the net. We’re playing good right now. I think we’re
at the top of our game.”

Durham had its own share of chances with striker David James forcing a wonderful save from Shane Lopez
to start the second half. Saints were only a goal in front at that point. The visitors got one back when
defender Taejon Mikle-Ryan took advantage of a Lopez mistake off a corner to lob the ball in to equalize
in the fifty-first minute. But in the fifty-sixth, Woods-Henry, a speedy forward, buried the winner.

Lopez, a leader from the net for Masters, who have climbed into sixth, just three points behind Windsor
Stars, said the win was welcome for Saints.

“I think it’s important we finish on a good note, we want to progress toward next year. We have to improve
on our skills. We’re getting into the groove of things. Once we train over the winter, then we will
be fine,” said Lopez.

Durham, which finished the match with ten men after Taylor Lord was sent off for a second yellow card
in the sixtieth minute, plays its next match at home Friday against ANB Futbol. The game is at 8 p.m.
at Kinsmen Park in Pickering.

Masters Saints wraps up its regular season with a visit to St. Joan of Arc Field in Vaughan to face
the Azzurri on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
