Attendance was about 60 for this rescheduled game that was to be played on Sunday September 21st at The Ontario Soccer Centre. The Country Day School is the actual home of ANB Futbol. It is on the grounds of a private school with about four fields I could see plus a 2/3's size field enclosed in a bubble for indoor play. It was already dark so I didn't get a great look at their facilities. With the game ending just before 11:00pm on a school night, there weren't any young children in the stands.

ANB dominated the first half and that time was spent almost entirely in the Sigma half of the field. Sigma took over in the second half and pressed but were called on what I'd say was almost a record number of offsides. ANB goalie Ali Ghazanfari was aggressive in coming out of his box to clear through balls with kicks and even a few headers. Emery Welshman (former MLS Toronto FC player) did score but on only one of his maybe five clear chances.

Best non-scoring chances were at 31 minutes when ANB Raheem Edwards blasted a 25 yarder low and down the middle that the diving goalie pushed wide right of the post. 36 minutes had ANB Belrum Vartanian pass the ball forward to Jason Mills who shot low from 18 yards that was blocked by the sliding goalie and he got his own rebound wide left of the goal and rolled a shot from 12 yards but Sigma defender Nick Baisden got back to clear near the goal line. Two minutes later ANB Jahsua Mills took a cornerkick from the left that had the ball popped up in the box and the goalie bobbled and dropped it and Jason Mills shot a 10 yarder over the net. Start of the second half had Sigma Marcel Zajac cross from 22 yards along the left end line through the six yard box and Emery Welshman spun and kicked a 3 yarder just wide of the right post. 55 minutes had ANB Vartanian rush up the middle through a few defenders and his 22 yard low shot was blocked by the sliding goalie at 10 yards. Brandon Mills blasted the rebound from 20 yards that hit the prone goalie and spun behind him but a defender was able to clear the ball. 85 minutes had Sigma Jordan Kalonji take a 22 yard low shot on a rush down the left that the diving goalie was able to push wide right of the post.

Referee Ramee Arbaji gave out five Yellow cards that I noticed in a game that had a few rough tackles and a lot of freekick calls. Two of the ANB Yellows were in the last ten minutes when they were holding on to the lead.

The win moves ANB up to sixth place (over Masters FA which has already completed its schedule) with a record now of 5 wins, 4 ties, 6 losses. Sigma holds at fourth place with a record of 7 wins, 5 ties, 3 losses. They now can't catch Toronto FC Academy for the championship—although the undefeated TFCA shouldn't need any help taking the title in their game this weekend against Cataraqui Clippers who haven't won a league game this season.

While in the schedule, this weekend was to be the last one of the regular season, with make up games to play the season will go on one more week said league chair Dino Rossi Jr who was twittering the game tonight. There are no playoffs for the league championship but there is still the Cup championship which is down to the semi-finals. Those games will be played in the middle of the week (around or on the 15th) and the final will be on Sunday October 19th at BMO Field in Toronto.
