Final Score:...Durham United FC......ppd........Woodbridge Strikers......ppd........
Attendance was about 30 on this warm evening. Hard to say if the threat of rain predicted all day scared people off or now that's school has started, children aren't coming out.
I was under a canvas canopy figuring that would keep me out of the rain but the canopy got caught and carried away in the wind. Better to cower in my car, the safest place to be in a lightning storm. I could see the dressing room from a distance but decided to drive home after waiting half hour. That still meant quite a drive on the expressway but fellow motorists were only going at about 2/3s speed through the hard rain so I was quite comfortable.
Woodbridge Strikers could change their name to Woodbridge 'Lightning' Strikers as this is the second time this season that they've had a game called off by lightning. Their July 27th home game against Toronto FC Academy was halted at 22 minutes and has still not been rescheduled.
