95 min...Sigma player's 35 yard freekick from left deflects off defender in two man wall over to Sigma players waiting on right post. Sigma Larin finally controls it but sliding defender pokes it away for throw-in.
96 min...Sigma Jordan Pereira GOAL...Sigma Giuliano Frano takes long running throw-in from near right cornerflag and leaping Sigma Emery Welshman can't turn header at 10 yards and ball tips back and drops in middle to Pereira who shoots 20 yarder through crowd of players and hits underside of bar and deflects out but hits body of jumping defender and deflects into net on right side of net.

Attendance was about 100 on this hot and humid evening with the threat of rain overhead but only a few drops during the game.

This was somewhat a surprise ending to the way the game had gone as Sigma were limited in their shots by having so many blocked by defenders and any that got through were usually off target. Strikers had played on Friday night with much the same line up except Oscar Cordon had returned from suspension. Maybe they did feel the effects of that game so recently by not being able to see out this game in the last 10 minutes.

Both goalies had a few key saves to make but long passages of the game especially in the first half had no action within 25 yards of each net for minutes at a time.

The four minutes of extra time was deserved as there were a few players injured in the second half. There was no scoreboard so I was using wristwatch time and counted six.

Referee Armando Pereira gave out only one Yellow card that I counted—to Strikers—in a game that wasn't rough.

The win moves Sigma into a second place tie in Group B in the Cup competition with a 1 win, 1 tie, 0 loss record—the same as Vaughan Azzurri although Vaughan has a better goal differential. Woodbridge leads the group with 2 wins, 0 ties, 2 losses but they've played all their games. They will probably make the semi-finals (top 2 teams advance) as it's doubtful that two teams will pass them. I was at this park on July 30th when Sigma got a 2-2 tie against Azzurri with an 88th minute goal. Sigma have played their two 'home' games in the competition and still have away games against Masters FA and Windsor Stars.

With so many players for Sigma that I didn't recognize I asked one of their officials. He said that about 40 of their players have left to return to school. When I asked how many had played games in this league he said about half that. There were a lot of amendments to their game sheet between subs and starters with only seven starters originally listed actually starting. One change that the league mentions is that defender Johnny Grant of Sigma is on an extended trial with KRC Genk in Belgium's top league. Also Strikers Vince Sasso has signed with FCA Darmstadt 04 in the sixth tier level of leagues in Germany.
