During halftime I went out to my car and grabbed my umbrella as the sky is darkening with cloud cover and the wind was blowing like it would soon bring rain.

Attendance was about 60 for this evening game with the weather being very hot and humid at the beginning but gradually getting cooler by the end of the game. We could see lightning in the distance but there were only a few drops of rain on us between the between the first and second half. In the afternoon I was cutting my lawn while the sun was out yet I was getting rained on at the same time.

The Clippers can't say they were tired by playing two games this weekend because their Friday home game was cancelled because the Sigma FC team couldn't get to Kingston because of a closure on Highway 401. The game changed on them not so much for the missed Penalty kick but earlier at 43 minutes soon after they fell behind 2-0. Clippers Dylan Bams cross from the right was partially tipped across the box and Antonios Assaad shot from 5 yards that the sprawling goalie Matt George got a hand to and crawled to pick up on the line by the left post.

Matt George earned the shutout for the Strikers with that one and a few other key saves.

Referee David Barrie gave out five Yellow cards that I counted—three to the Clippers in a game that did have some close tackles.

Rogers TV was RECORDING the game for later broadcast (not for live broadcast as League tweets were bragging about for the last few days). The game can be seen Monday night but ONLY if you live in the Vaughan area. So south of Steeles Ave (border with City of Toronto) won't get to see this game. Now the game might be on the high channel 368/369 Rogers Sports TV which carries community sports from across Ontario but this game might be on a few days from now at two in the morning or not at all. The commentators got off to a rough start because they were mixing up the two teams at least until after the first goal. Both teams are listed on the game sheet but home team and visiting team are clearly listed. Someone should have tipped them off before the game started.
