Master's FA Saints defeated ANB Futbol 2-0 on Wednesday night at the OSA Centre turf, thanks to goals
from Simone Orlandi and Jonathan Osorio. It was Master's first win since opening weekend, and came
just four days after the Saints were humbled 5-0 by Sigma FC in Scarborough.

For ANB, it was a tale of chances missed. Enjoying the bulk of possession early on, Bassam Naim's
squad still struggled to break into the final third. Jashua Mills cut a lonely figure on the left
side of the pitch as, due to his team's short passing game, he was left as an unexplored option
– at least in open play. It was through a seventeenth minute Mills' set piece that ANB got their
first chance of the game, as his beautifully lifted free kick smacked against the top of the
crossbar from the edge of the box.

Four minutes later it was sibling Jason Mills' time to test the woodwork. His blood-twisting run
turned Master's full-back Farzan Mirzazadeh inside out, but his shot found only the foot
of the post. The Saints were content to punt the ball forward for striker Arthur Sharapov to contest
in the air, and it was this tactic that brought the first goal of the game.

Simone Orlandi did well to collect and control a rebound headed out from the ANB backline. With acres
of space, Orlandi turned and thundered the ball into the left corner beyond a sprawling
Haydon Armstrong, giving Master's a twenty-second minute lead.

Searching for an equalizer, ANB peppered their opponent's goal for the next twenty minutes.
Master's goalkeeper Shane Lopez produced a fine double save in the forty-third minute, first
denying Jashua Mills from six yards out before getting back up to tip Jason Mills' point-blank
effort over the bar.

For much of the second half, ANB pressed and pressured, but found difficulty in cultivating
clear-cut chances. Jason and Brandon Mills' neatly worked short corner in the seventy-third
minute caught out the Master's defence, but goalkeeper Lopez reacted quickly to smother the
ball and the opportunity.

As ANB advanced further up the field to snatch a leveller, pockets of space began opening
up between their midfield and backline. Sharapov's storming run through the centre of the
pitch required a game saving last-ditch tackle by Anthony Smith to spare his side's blushes.
The contest was finally put to rest in stoppage time, courtesy of a cracking goal from
Jonathan Osorio. The Master's midfielder dribbled in from the right and, after beating
three players, curled his shot inside the left post.

As good as the goals were, the clean sheet will come as a welcome respite for coach
Junior Groves. after watching his side concede ten in their last two games.

Their next action comes versus Windsor Stars. July 5th at McHugh Stadium Field.
ANB Futbol host Durham United, July 9th in the L1 Cup At the OSA Centre.
