Attendance was announced as 18623. Tonight's game included free admission to the Canadian National Exhibition (their only home game for the length of the fair). The stands were very slow to fill in tonight with all the extra parking and crowd problems.

Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was announced as Andrew Wiedeman. He was the goal scorer for TFC tonight so I would say that's a good choice. He scored the winner in the Columbus Crew game on July 27th although tonight it wasn't raining anywhere near the downpour we had at the end of that game. The worst of the rain happened soon after the game ended and fans fled to the buildings that were still open on the CNE grounds.

We fans were sure that TFC had a winning goal at 87 minutes but the goal was called back. Was it offside? A handball? I had to wait until I got home to hear it was called back because Steven Caldwell had pushed down on a Revs defender while leaping for the ball to head it into the net as he faced away from goal.

Revs got off to a quick start with a goal in the 2nd minute. There was no reason to believe that Revs would not score five goals like their game last week against Philadelphia. Instead they didn't really threaten for most of the game. Revs also own the stingiest defence in the league having only surrendering 24 goals in 25 games up until tonight.

The Revs have never won in Toronto. There record after tonight is 0 wins, 5 ties, and 2 losses all time in this city. This was the rubber match in the season series with TFC losing then winning in their two games in Foxborough Massachusetts.

Revs forward Juan Agudelo will leave the Revs at the end of the MLS season to join Stoke City of the English Premier League. Tonight he was the player being injured the most often in this rough game.

Revs goalie Matt Reis caught most of the crosses sent into the box hanging onto the wet ball.

TFC start another streak as 'undefeated in two games' (both ties) although now at least their publicity department has stopped talking about qualifying for the playoffs.

TFC newest big signing Maximiliano Urruti made his home debut and came in as a sub at 77 minutes earning huge applause from the fans but wasn't a factor in this game maybe winning a cornerkick. Jeremy Brockie has now left TFC after last week's game as his loan spell from the Wellington Phoenix of the A-League (Australian) just ended. Urruti has fitted into his slot and that continues keeping 2012 first round draft picks Kyle Bekker and Emery Welshman off even the subs bench.

The game was rough with Revs picking up four Yellow cards while TFC earned three from referee Fotis Bazakos. He held back from issueing any second Yellows as one card didn't always change their playing style.

TFC Richard Eckersley has been allowed more runs down the wing and to take more of the long freekicks since the season started. Fellow defenders Ashton Morgan also got some long runs in on the opposite wing.
