Halftime Entertainment:...the game sponsor today is Subway Restaurants and a contest was held where two teams of two dressed as sandwich buns and one teammate ran around picking up felt or plastic 'ingrediants' and place them on the prone teammate to make up the sandwich while the 'Liberty Bell' (Monty Python theme) played in the background. The spot was ruined by Rachel's (TFC MC) microphone continously cutting out so we couldn't hear the rules of what we were watching.

2nd Half:...starts 8:13pm...the weather stayed the same except it's cooled off a bit.
45 min...Imp Camara from 60 yards dribbles through five players and passes forward from 35 yards that goalie dives forward on right at 15 yards to smother and charging Imp Di Vaio jumps over him.
45 min...TFC YELLOW card...Agbossoumonde earns it for knocking into Imp Paponi at TFC 50 yards.
47 min...Imp Felipe pass to left and Imp Arnaud pushes ball over end line before he can cross.
49 min...TFC O'Dea 25 yard freekick up middle is shot well over net and wide right.
50 min...Imp Felipe chips pass from right too far forward for Imp Arnaud on left and ball bounces over end line.

Attendance was announced as 21700 and their first sell out of the season. The corners of the stadium were filled but there were a lot of seats in the center that were empty of season ticket holders. It was a midweek game that started early so the seats filled in very slowly as fans fought to get here through the rush hour.

Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was announced as Jeremy Brockie. With one goal and one assist, I'd certainly agree with this. He had a few more chances to score more including a shot at 90 minutes when he hit the post and would have won them the game.

TFC tonight played the first place team of the East. They lost to Montreal away in league play and in the Canadian Championship (on aggregate is all the game program admits--yeah 6-0) in games that took place in Montreal earlier this year while beating the Impact 2-0 here in the first game of the Canadian Championship. They've never lost to Montreal at home so that streak continues.

There were no Canadians on TFC today except Emery Welshman who stayed on the subs bench. Four players were called up for Canada's Gold Cup team--defenders Doneil Henry and Ashtone Morgan, and midfielders Jonathan Osario and Kyle Bekker. Only Henry and Osario are regulars over the last few months.

Steven Caldwell scored his first goal for the team. It was very timely as he'd just ended his loan deal and signed a contract a few days ago. He'd also missed a tap-in in injury time in Saturday's game that would have earned them a tie against Real Salt Lake.

This was the first time TFC had scored three goals this season but also the first time (in league play) they'd given up three goals.

TFC broke up some of their best runs with bad passes.

TFC players applauded the fans from the safety of the center of the field. There were a lot of groans from the fans at the end of the game in my section. A 3-3 tie would have drawn plenty of applause if it had been TFC that had made the comeback tonight. Some hardcore TFC fans lit flares after the game under the Section 104 stands to taunt the few dozen Impact fans who'd trekked here for a midweek game. Lighting flares from their seats during the stands would get them permanantly banned from games besides being more than 100 yards away.

The Impact scored within the first minute of the game which I've now heard was the fifth fastest score in league history. Their other two goals were scored within a minute to tie the game in the second half. Hassoun Camara showed good dribbling skills when he took on players. The veteran players didn't look like tiring old guys at the end of the game. I wasn't expecting Marco Di Vaio to play the whole game. He leads the league in scoring after putting in his 11th tonight (and only second on the road).

TFC put tickets on sale today for their friendly against AS Roma next month but the Impact have five players from Italy on their roster and gave us a taste of that style of play. The ticket prices for that game aren't out of line. They are equal to a 2013 regular season game except I was able to buy my season ticket at 2007 prices.

Before the game three parachutists landed at various times on the field. They were all a surprise to me but the last one arrived minutes after the first two so he was a surprise too.

A serious car accident had reduced Bay Street to no lanes and I started walking towards the stadium after the subway ride downtown and caught a bus that originated from I don't know where along the 'reduced to two lanes' Queens Quay West. That street is being rebuilt including replacing the streetcar tracks which so far has taken over one year. After the game I got off the bus at almost the same place to walk to the subway because of bumper to bumper traffic at 9:30pm was unexpected. I should have tried to leave northbound. I don't know if I'd have done worse if I'd driven my car to watch the Lady Lynx game today in the west end then taken transit from a stop out there.
