K-W United Tops Toronto Earns second consecutive win to climb standings K-W United News Release - www.kwunitedfc.com Thursday, July 4, 2013 TORONTO - Danya Barcalona and Anne Houliston contributed the goals as K-W United FC claimed a 2-1 win against the Toronto Lady Lynx in W-League action. The win moved K-W United closer to Toronto in the Central Conference standings as the race for playoff spots intensifies. Coming off a formidable performance at home against the London Gryphons, United went to Toronto for its first of four road games in five to end the season. United led 1-0 after the first half Wednesday afternoon thanks to Houliston's goal in the 30th minute. Toronto was able to finally beat goalkeeper Emma Kruse when Olivia Lukasewich scored in the 49th minute to even the score. However, Barcalona struck in the 70th minute to ensure K-W United would earn all three points. Houliston also tallied an assist on Barcalona's goal, while Grace Cuenin assisted on Houliston's goal. Midfielder Suzanne Boroumand was named Player of the game for her efforts troughout her 80 minutes of action. Kruse stopped seven of the eight shots she faced. United will travel west on the 401 to take on the London Gryphons on Friday, before returning home to play the Laval Comets in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday. Game time for Friday's game is 7 p.m., and game time for Sunday's game is 3 p.m.
