11 min...TLL Lawrence rush into KWU box on left and she slips while she is covered and ball is cleared. TLL Alfonso 30 yard shot from right is over crowd of players and caught by goalie.
16 min...TLL Nicole Waters GOAL...Waters blasts 20 yard freekick from down middle to right and goalie Emma Knuso dives to right and gets a piece of it with her hands but the momentum spins the ball over them and into the right corner of the net.
20 min...TLL Bernard passes from 12 yards on right and TLL Listro one-touches 10 yard shot up middle that goalie sprawls to catch. Both TLL players were covered.
22 min...KWU Cutaia taps pass over to KWU Barsalona but her first touch from 20 yards on left pushes ball over end line.

72 min...TLL Listro rescues ball on left sideline then crosses it well over KWU box unplayed.

73 min...TLL Taylor MacIver GOAL...TLL Cathryn Rogers chips 18 yard shot that goalie bats down just under the bar. MacIver charges in and knocks the ball into the net from 1 yard with her hip or chest as goalie didn't have possession. (that was the ruling after the referee gives a short chat to the K-W players surrounding him).
75 min...KWU Conrad runs into TLL goalie injurying her when she dives forward to catch bouncer.

Attendance was about 75 on this warm day with a bright sun in the west.

Stephanie Bukovec earned the shutout for the Lady Lynx. She had very little to do except come forward to pick up the odd cross or through ball.

K-W had far too many offsides and balls rolled too fast for the articial turf that rolled out of play.

Referee Sahraei Saman gave out one Yellow card to each team that I counted in a game that was rough at times.

Best non scoring chances of the match were at 20 minutes when TLL Jordyn Listro received a short pass from TLL Oni Bernard and one-touched a 10 yard shot up the middle that the goalie sprawled to catch as both TLL players were covered by defenders. 62 minutes had TLL Ashley Lawrence take an 18 yard shot from the right that was deflected and just missed the top left corner of the net. 68 minutes had TLL Jordyn Listro make a long rush on the left and roll a cross that the goalie dived forward to smother preventing a TLL player from a tap-in from 5 yards. 70 minutes had TLL Listro cross from 22 yards on the left and TLL Lawrence got away a 12 yard shot that the goalie partially blocked at 5 yards and a defender cleared the ball from 2 yards.

Lady Lynx were the home team but they had only five subs against K-W's seven. Defender Kadesha Buchanan was called up for the Canadian national team and will play against Germany later this week to earn her second cap. Defender Rachel Melhado who was captain of the Lady Lynx for their game earlier this month against London Gryphons is scheduled to earn her first senior cap in that Germany game was also not on today's roster.

Despite missing these defenders, the line of Kayla Alfonso, Sarah Reynolds, Noelle Leon-Palmer and Olivia Lukasewich minimized the K-W scoring chances.

K-W (for the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo) had forward Adriene Lischke (she played for the Lady Lynx up to 2009) as their forward threat. Defender Leticia Skeete played for the Lady Lynx in their home opener this year against Laval on May 26th.

The K-W team (men's and women's) relocated from Hamilton last year.

Lady Lynx next home game is Wednesday July 3rd at 3:30pm also against K-W United.
