Attendance was about 60 on this warm sunny day with a strong wind from the north.

Comets held the advantage in the first half. Lady Lynx played much better in the second but the difference might have been as easy as saying each team had the wind at their back during their better half.

Best non scoring chances started early with LC Valerie Sanderson being crossed a ball from the right and kicking at 10 yard shot that the goalie caught at 3 minutes. 5 minutes had TLL Ashley Campbell cross the the right from 22 yards had TLL Furtuna Velaj one-touch a 7 yard shot over the top right corner of the net. 33 minutes had LC Kylie Davis sent in a pass from 25 yards to LC Nkem Eurizike who shot a low 10 yard shot that the diving goalie pushed wide left of the post.

55 minutes had TLL Velaj send in a low cross from 25 yards on the far left that had the goalie dive forward to catch to prevent a TLL forward from getting the ball at 8 yards. 83 minute had TLL Leticia Skeete save the ball on the LC right end line, elude a defender and roll a pass back and TLL Nicole Waters blasted a shot from 15 yards that was saved the the goalie flying to the right post. Injury time had LC Catherine Charron-Delage cross from the right end line out to the middle and the goalie flew forward to tip the ball away from LC Amy Pietrangelo waiting at 6 yards for a tap-in.

Comets had played yesterday afternoon on their bus trip to Southern Ontario beating London Gryphons 2-0. Good thing for them that the fixtures weren't reversed because today they lost two players to ankle injuries. Marie-Pier Gougeon had to leave at 40 minutes and at 47 minutes goal scorer Legault-Cordisco was injured when TLL Furtuna Velaj crashed into her which earned Velaj the only Yellow card of the game.

Former Canadian international Cindy Walsh is the head coach of the Comets. She played her four last national team games in 2010 after a ten year absence. She played defence and was the captain last year when the Comets played here. That game also finished 1-1 early in the season. Comets knocked the Lady Lynx out of the Central Conference semi-final last year. Danny Stewart is still the coach of the Lady Lynx.

This was the Lady Lynx first game of the season. They play their next three games on the road and their next home game is Wednesday June 5th at 3:00pm against London (a school day doubleheader with the guy Lynx playing at 11:00am)
