4 min...YRS West rolls 25 yard ball too far forward and wide left for goalkick.
6 min...YRS Lecky 45 yard high shot from right is caught wide left of net.
9 min...YRS Francisco Javier Perez GOAL...YRS Richard West rescues ball on the left end line and rolls ball out from 15 yards along line to Perez who takes 22 yard shot up middle into left side of net over diving goalie Jaroslav Tesar.

88 min...KFC player's 30 yard freekick from left is taken too fast and YRS players break it up.
90 min...YRS goalie to right post to swat ball away on ccross from left and he crashes into post.
91 min...KFC YELLOW card...Kennedy earns it for bashing over YRS Christey at YRS 22 yard line sideline.
93 min...KFC goalie beats YRS Gomez to through ball at 25 yards.
94 min...KFC YELLOW card...Lichioiu earns it for levelling YRS Christey in YRS end.

Attendance was about 80 on this cool evening with a misty rain falling off and on and an actual fog near ground level that made it difficult for me to see the numbers on players making runs up the opposite end of the field (which will make the play by play comments that I'll put on my website pretty sketchy).

Kingston scored the most goals of the 12 teams in the league with 69 goals in 22 games but couldn't find the net tonight. Shooters finish with the second best goals against only allowing 22 all season with Toronto Croatia with 21 goals against. If they'd gone with more than 12 players to Waterloo last Wednesday (that's what I heard) they may not have got beaten 5-0 and they would have set that record.

Kingston had some good runs upfield but passed one too many times or were forced into off balance shots that were off target. The Shooters defence of Tristan Jackman, Ricky Herron, Dino Gardener, and Fitzroy Christey were the reason for that feat. Adrian Ibanez earned the shutout for YRS with a few key saves.

Referee David Barrie kept the game under control until the very end when a pushing match broke out. He'd given out one Yellow cards (that I noticed) until that time. YRS Fitzroy Christie was leveled twice in three minutes by different KFC players in injury time. An earlier pushing match at 68 minutes had Barrie just talk to the players involved.

Best non-scoring chances were at 20 minutes when the KFC goalie slid out to block a ball set up by a poor backpassed header and YRS Kadian Lecky fell over him at 15 yards and was injured. 29 minutes had KFC Jason Massie take a 30 yard freekick from the right that had a leaping KFC player in the middle head the ball just over the bar from 10 yards. The next minute had YRS Richard West block a KFC clearance on the left and his short pass was centered for a YRS player to shoot just wide from 20 yards. 34 minutes had YRS Francisco Javier Perez chip a short pass from 25 yards to YRS Lecky who'd stepped behind a defender and his low 15 yard shot was stopped by the sliding goalie at 10 yards. 51 minutes had Lecky receive a cross from the right and he headed a bouncer from 10 yards that the flying goalie pushed wide left of the post. 64 minutes had KFC Nathan Klemencic on the right center a pass for the open KFC Guillaume Surot but the YRS goalie dived to push the ball wide right. 90 minutes had the YRS goalie rush over to the right post to swat a ball away on a cross from the left and he crashed into the post.

Shooters finish the regular season with 15 wins, 5 losses, and 2 ties. That's good to earn 2nd place with the same number of points as Toronto Croatia who had the same number of points (47) but one less win which is the first tiebreaker.

Kingston FC had clinched the league title last weekend but used their 1st team roster as far as I could see (my third time watching them this season whereas a few of the Toronto area teams I've seen twelve times). They finish the season with a record of 16 wins, 4 ties, 2 losses for 50 points. They hold home field advantage throughout the playoffs until the Championship Final in Niagara Falls on November 3rd.
