Attendance was about 80 on this mild night. This game had been rescheduled from July 12th because of the flood damaged Centennial Stadium but was rescheduled at Esther Shiner Stadium on a few days notice because of the now damaged field by the extreme-sports permit holders at Centennial. About 15 Ultra Serb fans took turns lighting flares and fireworks in the stands.

The game started off very slow with no real chances until the goal was scored. The game wasn't really rough at all and I only counted three cards and they were all after 74 minutes. Croatia had all the chances in the second half while playing 11 v 11.

Scott Cliff earned the shutout for the White Eagles with a few key saves.

Best non-scoring chances of the game were at 22 minutes when SWE Dragan Dragutinovic took a cornerkick from the right that the goalie missed on his leap but an SWE player headed over the net from 6 yards. 47 minutes had TC Boze Poljak take a cornerkick from the right that TC Ainsley Deer headed an 8 yarder that the leaning goalie caught on the left post. 56 minutes had TC David Alva take a cornerkick from the left that the charging TC Deer headed wide right of the post from 10 yards. 86 minutes had SWE Thomas Winski take a cornerkick from the left that an SWE player popped up on a short header at 10 yards and SWE Sahjah Reid's flying header from 6 yards hit the outside of th right post and a defender cleared. 94 minutes had SWE Ivan Stankovic get a ball at 10 yards but couldn't get away a shot until he was a 5 yards over on the left when he shot into the outside webbing of the net.

Croatia had played Sunday night and have their final game of the regular season on Saturday so with three games in a week they rested some of their stars like forwards Tihomir Maletic and Kresimir Prgomet. They didn't bother to bring them in when they still had a chance to get a result. They certainly avoided injury but they lost their starting goalie because of the Red card. Antonio Ilic won the CSL Goalie of the Year Award in 2012. Croatia team officials were consulting with the referee after the game about the call. David Barrie admitted he wasn't at the best angle to see the incident so went to the sidelines to consult with assistant Allison Enright about the play. It was definitely outside the box so there was no Penalty kick but denying a clear scoring opportunity is considered Violent Conduct and results in a three game suspension which will keep Ilic out of the last regular season game and the first two rounds of the playoffs.

White Eagles have almost completed an intense schedule of Wednesday and Friday matches for three weeks in a row and have one more game against Windsor on Friday night to complete their schedule.

White Eagles improve their record to 7 wins, 12 losses, 2 ties which tonight moves them up to the 8th and final playoff spot. They started the evening with 20 points and 11th place but the win flips them over St Catharines and Burlington who've both finished their schedule and Astros Vargas who have 22 points but both teams have one game to go.

Croatia has their record fall to 13 wins, 3 losses, 5 ties which holds them in a tie for 2nd place with York Region Shooters who we kept hearing were losing to SC Waterloo 4-0 by the time our game was over. Both Croatia and Shooters have one more game.
