WATERLOO IN THE PLAYOFFS......defeat Niagara United while Windsor Stars triumph over St. Catharines SC Waterloo clinched a playoff berth with a 2-0 away victory over Niagara United, while Windsor Stars defeated St. Catharines Wolves also by a 2-0 score, two games in the CSL First Division Saturday night. Forward Ranko Golijanin opened the scoring for Waterloo at the Kalar Sports Park in Niagara Falls, he connected with a cross from the right wing to beat Niagara goalkeeper Brad Gemmell from close range for a 1-0 lead at the 14th minute mark. Drazen Vukovic made it 2-0 at 24 minutes, his 12th goal of the season, it was 2-0 at the interval and the final whistle. SC Waterloo improve to an 8-7-4 WLT record for 28 points to be the fifth team to secure a spot in the playoffs, alongside Kingston FC, York Region Shooters, Toronto Croatia – the defending CSL champions – and Brampton City United. Stephen Ademolu opened the scoring at 30 minutes for Windsor Stars, a low shot to find the net past St. Catharines goalkeeper Matthew Greco and it was 1-0 at half-time. Wade Allen made it 2-0 for Windsor at 62 minutes from a free kick just outside the box – his 4th goal of the season – and the score held to the final whistle. Windsor Stars have an 8-8-3 record for 27 points and 6th in the standings, while St. Catharines Wolves are at 7-14-0 for 21 points in eighth position.
