KINGSTON RETURNS FOR PUSH TO FIRST DIVISION TITLE.....playoff details released High flying Kingston FC will be looking to maintain their three-point margin at the top of the CSL First Division when they meet SC Waterloo this coming Sunday following a successful excursion last Sunday to the University of Ottawa for a friendly encounter with the Montreal Impact Academy. The CSL league leaders came away with a 1-0 victory in that game and now return to the business of the First Division title with five games remaining in their regular season schedule prior to the CSL Championship playoffs in October. The Brampton City Utd vs. Toronto Croatia match at Victoria Park in Brampton this Saturday gives the home side an opportunity to make amends for two home defeats in a week. The loss to York Region Shooters last Sunday was a particularly hard blow to Brampton’s bid for the top spot following a strong period during which the team from northwest of Toronto played some strong, attractive soccer. The CSL playoffs in both divisions will get underway with the quarterfinals the weekend October 11 – 13, with the top eight teams qualifying for the post-regular season competition. The top four teams will have home advantage and will retain home advantage for the semifinals the weekend of October 18 – 20. The CSL Championship Final and Second Division championship date and venue will be announced on Monday.
