7 min...AV De Sousa receives pass from 20 yards in middle and blasts 12 yard shot that has diving goalie push ball wide right of post.
7 min...AV Melo cornerkick from right is cleared in box by defender. AV Melo 30 yard shot from extreme right deflects off SCW Muir at 10 yards for goalie top pick up.
9 min...SCW Hasecic taps pass back on right to SCW Zelenbaba to shoot low 15 yarder from right that goalie saves on left side.

46 min...SCW player's long throw-in from left is headed away. SCW Colic blasts 30 yarder down middle well high and right of net.
47 min...AV Sasso crosses from 25 yards near left sideline has AV Melo on left at 15 yards dive forward and heads ball just wide left of post.
49 min...SCW Vukovic chips pass from 35 yards on right has just step ahead of SCW Hasecic and goalie grabs ball on bounce at 15 yards.
51 min...AV De Sousa cross from 20 yards on right has flying AV Melo heads wide left from 12 yards.

Attendance was about 40 on this warm day with a bright sun in the west which the Astros ran into in the first half and was unchanged when Waterloo played that direction in the second.

SCW had the advantage in possession throughout most of the game and more runs up and through the defence but the Astros had chances to score--Jose Melo had at least three headers that he sent either wide or over the net when it would have made a difference. SCW could only rest easy after they scored their third goal to pull away. They had only brought three outfield subs and a backup goalie but their timely subbing and key goals never left the team tired.

Referee Yusri Rudolph gave out only two Yellow cards (both to SCW) that I counted in a game that wasn't rough and waved off two other SCW Penalty kick requests at 64 and 78 minutes.

Best non-scoring chances were at 7 minutes when AV Jose Goncalves De Sousa received a pass from 20 yards in the middle and blasted a 12 yard shot from the right that the diving goalie pushed wide right of the post. 44 minutes had AV Joey Melo take a 22 yard freekick from the left that the goalie jumped to tip over the bar. 55 minutes had SCW Ranko Golijanin receive a pass at 30 yards on the left from a pass sent in from 60 yards. Golijanin turned and fired a 25 yard shot just wide right of the post. 72 minutes had SCW Drazan Vukovic receive a threaded through ball from the center line up the middle at 30 yards and he chipped a 20 yarder over the bar.

SCW split their weekend road trip after losing the Friday night game 3-2 against London City. Today's result improves their record to 7 wins, 6 losses, amd 4 ties and flips them from 7th to 5th in the standings (pending games later in the day). Astros record drops to 5 wins, 11 losses, and 2 ties which leaves them in 8th (again pending later results).

Actually I left here right after confirming the assists with players and officials of both teams to get over to the Toronto Croatia vs Windsor Stars game.
