MOHAMMED STRIKES TWICE FOR ST. CATHARINES VICTORY WEDNESDAY Forward Mohammed Mohammed, recently signed from Burlington SC, struck twice to lead St. Catharines Wolves to a 2-1 victory over Serbian White Eagles, the only game in the Canadian Soccer League Wednesday. Mohammed opened the scoring for the home side when he took possession to catch the net past Serbian Eagles’ goalkeeper Scott Cliff at the 13th minute mark, but a few minutes later Sahjah Reid tied the score 1-1 for Serbian Eagles. Reid dispossessed the opposition to drive the ball from 20 yards past St. Catharines goalkeeper Matthew Greco. Mohammed’s second goal, which turned out to be the winner, was similar to his first when he drove the ball from close in just under the crossbar at 41 minutes. The goal was his sixth of the season and it was 2-1 for the Garden City side at the final whistle. Serbian Eagles goalscorer Reid was issued a second caution by referee Marie-Soleil Beaudoin at 88 minutes and was ejected. St. Catharines improve to a 5-11-0 WLT record for 15 points, while Serbian White Eagles continue to struggle with an uncharacteristic 4-10-1 record for 13 points. Both clubs can still make the playoffs.
