93 min...BCU Milos Scepanovic GOAL...BCU Thomas McLean blasts 30 yard freekick from the left that the goalie flies to block and Scepanovic kicks 7 yarder over fallen goalie into top right corner of net.

Attendance was about 80 on this hot and sunny day. That was disappointing for such nice weather. It did mean it was easy to hear all the chatter on the field and BCU Thomas McLean heckling back at a Stars fan in the stands.

Referee Manuel Orellano gave out only one Yellow card (and the Red card) that I counted in a close checking game with some harsh tackles. He got the players from both teams to back off when they surrounded him before he gave out the Red card. Both teams had problems with getting called offside quite often.

Milos Scepanovic scored all three goals for BCU today. Two of them came off Penalty kicks. His total goals scored is 8 for the season which brings him up to a tie for 6th. 2nd leading league scorer Marcos Nunes will face a lengthy suspension and his total stalls at 13.

Eugenio Garro was the goalie for BCU today. He had played in the team's 2nd Division game yesterday which they lost 1-0 against SC Waterloo B. With main keeper Camillo Benzi still serving a suspension, backup Euloge Awitor Kodzo on vacation, and the B team #1 in the USA scouting for schools to attend, the chance fell to Garro who didn't disappoint. He made a few good saves but it was the Stars poor shooting that really cost them the game. BCU's defenders have only allowed 17 goals in 13 games. Donavan Wilson, Mirko Medic, Mark Jankovic, and Tarik Robertson cut down on Stars shots and the 'tall guys' of Medic and Jankovic had a few headers when BCU sent in a cornerkick of freekick into the Stars box.

Best non-scoring chances were at 26 minutes when BCU Marcos Nunes took a low 20 yard shot from the right that the diving goalie blocked and the ball rolled wide left of the net. 45 minutes had BCU David Velastagui take a cornerkick from the left that BCU Mirko Medic headed from 15 yards from the right that was caught by the goalie just under the bar. 47 minutes had a Stars player bend a 20 yard shot down the middle that the goalie pushed off the right post for a cornerkick. 62 minutes had Stars Wade Allen tap a pass at 40 yards to the charging Stars Stephen Ademolu who ran to 15 yards and had his low 15 yard shot blocked point blank by the sliding goalie. Allen followed up with the 10 yard rebound shooting it wide right of the post.

BCU's record improves to 9 wins, 4 losses, 0 ties which based on other teams results later tonight moves them to a tie for 3rd place with either one game or two games in hand on the teams above them. Stars record evens up at 6 wins, 6 losses, 3 ties to be all alone in 5th place.

Stars only played one game this weekend as their game against Serbian White Eagles on Friday night was postponed because of field damage at Centennial Stadium. I wondered how the schedulers could cancel that game and let Toronto Croatia play at that stadium on Sunday in a few hours...but that report I'll type up tomorrow....
