Attendance was about 100 on this hot and sunny day.

This game was closer than the scoreline indicated with BCU only pulling away in the last 20 minutes when the Wolves pressed for a tieing goal. Wolves had just come off a big 2-1 home win against Toronto Croatia--being the first team to beat them in over a year.

Camilo Benzi earned the shutout for BCU by making a few key saves. He was helped by the backline of Donavan Wilson, Thomas McLean, captain Mirko Medic and Tarik Robertson that limited Wolves chances.

Referee Jeff Fearnall gave out only two Yellow cards (both to BCU) that I counted although there was some rough play in parts of the game. BCU were called offside four times in the first 18 minutes and that trend continued for much of the game. With so many chances it seemed like BCU could break the game open in the first half.

Best non-scoring chances included at 55 minutes when BCU Marcos Nunes bicycle kicked a shot from 12 yards that hit the bar. 62 minutes had Wolves Zack Bewley work out a short cornerkick from the left with Christian Carvajal and a 22 yard shot was punched away by the goalie flying forward at 8 yards.

Brampton improves their record to 8 wins, 2 losses, 0 ties and that moves them up to 3rd place. They have won all 5 home games this year. Wolves fall to 3 wins, 6 losses, 0 ties and are currently 9th but have at least a game in hand on all the teams in the league.

The game was recorded by Rogers Community Channel and will be shown on Thursday night at 7:00pm--but only for residents of Brampton and Mississauga.

Roma Wolves will get a benefit for their recent association with AS Roma (although they've been named Roma since they were formed in 1977) when they obtained tickets to the Toronto FC vs AS Roma match to be held on August 7th at BMO Field.
