Halftime entertainment:...The have a mini game in the center circle with kids of maybe six to eight from the Royal York FC. It lasted 3 minutes like every other time they hold it. The music they play is The Who's 'Teenage Wasteland' which is better that the usual Benny Hill music they used to play last year.
They also introduce Martin Reader, beach volleyball player for Canada at the just completed Olympics. He was there to help promote the Olympic parade in downtown Toronto next week.

Attendance was announced as 15669. This was the first time I ever noticed that the south end was not completely packed. This section holds TFC's most hardcore supporters. The crowd booed TFC after the game. The players made no post game walkover to the south end. There were a lot of fans in my row and section but mostly people I didn't recognize.
Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was announced as midfielder Terry Dunfield. He was more of a decoy on TFC's only goal but
played hard on offence and defence.
Today's game was a battle of the league's two WORST teams. It was just two struggling teams passing and shooting inaccurately the whole game. I reminded an English guy behind me who was mostly laughing the whole game. He thought the funniest thing he saw was the referee spray painting the field to make sure the defenders stayed 10 yards behind the freekick and the kicker didn't move the ball forward.
I thought TFC would win even after the Union tied the game as the team would have to win to keep their thin playoff chances alive. There were a lot of chances for both teams at the end.
TFC goalie Milos Kocic shanked a few clearance kicks out of bounds but otherwise did not have many saves to make.
TFC Eric Hassli did score while standing still but looked slow. He reminded me of Danny Dichio with his flick-on pass attempts.
The Union's record in their last seven games is 0-3-4. TFC's record is 0-6-3 since their last win.
TFC's head coach Paul Mariner blasted his team after the Chicago Fire loss on Wednesday when the team was shorthanded and a lot of subs were allowed to start but didn't prove they should be starters. Today's game only changed starters Ryan Johnson and Terry Dunfield back from national team duty to replace forward Quincy Amarikwa (who came in as a sub later) and midfielder Andrew Wiedeman. These were not the wholesale changes that I expected. Defender Ashtone Morgan missed today's game because of Yellow card accumulation.
The sun came out a few times but more often it looked like rain but that never started.
The announcer was the voice of the woam who does the Concacaf Championship matches. They don't flash the TFC player's pictures in the introductions any more.
