40 sec...Lynx Parolini cross from 25 yards near right end line is over box unplayed.
3 min...Fire Morgan 20 yard shot from right is rolled just wide left of post.
4 min...Fire Oliver rush on right shoots low 12 yard shot that's saved by sliding goalie and ball deflects back off Oliver and over the net for a goalkick.
5 min...Lynx Veidman long throw-in from left has defender head away.
8 min...Fire Ciesulka 38 yard freekick from left has charging Fire Albert get foot to ball at 12 yards and sends it over net.
10 min...Fire Ciesulka cornerkick from right has defender head ball away for fast breakout.

Lynx players are victims of constant offside calls near center line.
91 min...Fire Garza sends in a low cross from 25 yards that has a lunging Fire Morgan miss the ball at 5 yards and the goalie made the catch.
92 min...Lynx Ribero got a breakaway, he deliberately holds up on the edge of the box and instead of running to the corner to waste time, fires a shot well over the net giving the Fire one last chance.

Attendance was about 30 on this afternoon that started off sunny, very hot and humid and then became overcast and the temperature dropped from unbearable to just uncomfortable.

Ben Ur earned the shutout for the Lynx. He stopped the Penalty shot as well as made some other diving saves to ensure the victory.

Best non-scoring chances were at 23 minutes when Fire Bryan Ciesulka blasts a 25 yard freekick down the middle that hit a head in the player wall and deflected just over the bar. 35 minutes had Ciesulka take a cornerkick from the right that had CF Andrew Oliver head a 12 yarder down the middle that the diving goalie pushed wide right of the net. 43 minutes had Oliver rush along the 22 yard line and cut a shot that the diving goalie saved on the right. 48 minutes had Lynx players have a chance when the Fire goalie dove out to make a save at 12 yards and a defender held back a player and the ball was cleared. 91 minutes had Fire Art Garza send in a low cross from 25 yards that had a lunging Taylor Morgan miss the ball at 5 yards and the goalie made the catch. Lynx efforts to protect the lead in the last ten minutes were hampered by constantly being called offside when they'd have a breakaway. One chance they had at 92 minutes when Randy Ribero got a breakaway, he deliberately held up on the edge of the box and instead of running to the corner to waste time fired a shot well over the net giving the Fire one last chance.

The Lynx improve their record to 3-8-2 and are still last among the eight teams in their division. They started the season with five straight losses so they are somewhat mirroring another Toronto soccer team. Fire Premier record drops to 4-6-3 for their worst season since they started in 2001. I've counted back and found this to be their tenth meeting (since Lynx dropped to PDL in 2007) and this is the first time the Lynx have won! Four ties and five losses before today.

All Fire players wore high numbers into the 90s except lone forward Taylor Morgan who wore '3'. Both teams had their roster listed as 4-5-1 formations but both teams employed two forwards from almost the start of the game.

Lynx next home game is Tuesday July 10th at 11:00am against River City Rovers of Louisville Kentucky.
