Attendance was about 25 on this hot and sunny late afternoon.

Best non-scoring chances were at 4 minutes when Kings Luke Spence crossed from 20 yard on the left and Kings Cian McDonald volleyed a 10 yard shot that hit the right post and deflected over to Spence who recrossed and Kings Ian Block shot a 12 yarder from the right that the goalie caught. 9 minutes had Kings Spence blast an 8 yard shot from the right that was wide left of the net. 46 minutes had Kings Tim Simpson blast a 12 yard clear shot over the net after a Lynx defender whiff on a clearance. 55 minutes had Lynx Macca Wilde's cornerkick from the left had Lynx Danny Ianacito head a 10 yarder over the net. Two minutes later Wilde took a 50 yard freekick from the right that had the ball fall to Lynx Leigh Veidman who shot an 8 yarder that the goalie made a point blank save and Lynx Callum Home then shot the 12 yard rebound wide of the post. 77 minutes had Lynx Veidman chip a 22 yarder on the left and the goalie got back to punch the ball over the net for a cornerkick.

Lynx were pressing for the last 20 minutes which made things interesting as it set the Kings off on counterattacks. The Kings could have put the game out of reach if they'd been able to put one away. The Kings goalie caught a lot of high balls during that time that snuffed out Lynx rallies.

The Kings had been beaten the night before 3-0 in Hamilton. A few weeks ago I'd looked at the schedule and thought this was the best chance for the Lynx to win at least one game this year. That point became unnecessary when the Lynx upset Hamilton a week ago. Kings have done well in the last few weeks and their record improved from no wins to a respectable 3-4-1. Lynx fall to 1-6-1.

Tonight's score fits perfectly with the Lynx season. The Lynx have scored only 8 goals this season which averages 1 per game. (worst in the division) They have now conceded 16 goals (which is a respectable fourth of the eight teams) that is an average of 2 per game.
