Attendance was about 40 on this bitterly cold night with a strong wind from the west (including some watching the game from the parking lot inside their cars). The game finally started at 8:44pm as their were four groups of permit holders playing co-ed soccer, co-ed soccer, co-ed soccer, and ultimate frisbee across the width of the field until their permits ended at 8:00pm. Since no one expected there'd be a game here on a Wednesday night months ago, the night was rented out to groups. After they left the players then needed time to properly warm up.

There were questions raised of whether this game would be played. Ironically it was the same referee tonight, David Barrie, who eventually postponed the game from September 14th when TFCA officials couldn't get the stadium lights to turn on.

TFC Academy listed only four players as subs (and one was the spare goaltender) whereas MIA had six. TFCA has some players at Canada's U-20 national teams training camp. Defender Nikola Paunic, and midfielder Dylan Carreiro and Michael Petrasso were with the team that beat the USA 2-1 earlier today.

Best non-scoring chances were at 29 minutes when TFCA Mark Serjeant took a 40 yard freekick from the right that was headed down at 22 yards and TFCA Duran Lee took a 20 yard shot down the middle that deflected low off a defender and popped up and hit the bar and a defender cleared the rebound from 6 yards. 64 minutes had MIA Maxim Tissot take a 35 yard freekick from the right that had a charging MIA Kai Morton get a foot to the bar at 10 yards and the ball deflected up and hit the bar. One minute later TFCA Adam Bradshaw blasted a 20 yarder on the left off the left post and a rebound of the ball was blasted from the right side well over the net.

Referee David Barrie didn't start giving out Yellow cards until 74 minutes and gave out two to TFCA and one for MIA by the end of the game that I counted.

Montreal finishes their season strongly with their ninth win in a row and flip over SC Toronto into 2nd spot with a 14-3-5 record for 47 points. TFC Academy finish the season with a record of 10-7-5 for 35 points and a tie for 6th with Serbian White Eagles who have an identical record BUT SWE should get 6th because of having a better record against TFCA, scoring more goals than TFCA, and having a better goals for/against then TFCA (I've heard various orders of what the league would use a tiebreakers as the season went on). What that means is that TFCA should play MIA this weekend in Montreal in a one game quarterfinal. None of the quarterfinals will be played Friday night so people will watch the Canada vs Cuba World Cup qualifier.
