Attendance was about 80 on this very cold and damp night. It had stopped raining just before gametime.

Chances were few throughout the game and the only good chances started in the second half. A tie was a fair result to the game.

Antonio Ilic earned the shutout for Croatia and Camilo Benzi for the Shooters.

Best chances were at 50 minutes when TC Boris Tomac shot a 22 yarder down the middle just over the bar. 65 minutes had YRS Ramos Reis Eder-Eurenco slide to cut a 12 yard shot from the left that the goalie dived to save on the left side of the net. A minute later Eder-Eurenco took a 20 yard shot from the left that the goalie palmed wide left for a cornerkick. 82 minutes had YRS Andre Manders turn and fire a 30 yard shot that the goalie batted wide left. 89 minutes had TC Andelo Srzentic take a 22 yard freekick from the left just wide right of post where most were expecting Tihomir Maletic would actually kick it. 90 minutes had Srzentic take a 28 yard shot from the left and the goalie dived forward on the left to punch the ball away. Tomac shot the rebound from 18 yards down the middle just wide right of the post.

Referee Steven DePiero had a quiet game and only gave out one Yellow card the entire game that I counted and that was to TC Boris Tomac at 80 minutes. Even the hecklers didn't have much to get upset about.

Both teams put out mostly their first teams despite the risk of injury. Substitutes for both teams started at 56 minutes to give almost everyone a run. YRS forward Kadian Lecky did not come off the bench. TC captain Tonci Pirija was not even on the bench. He will be leaving the team for good on November 3rd when he will start playing for a team in Asia (either in Singapore or Malaysia). YRS Matthew O'Connor was the only player replaced because of injury when he was hurt at 63 minutes and needed treatment on the sideline before he could even limp.

This completes the regular schedule for both teams. Toronto Croatia had clinched first place last week and after tonight's result end the season with a record of 15-1-6 for 51 points. They will play the 8th place team Niagara United here next weekend. York Region Shooters finish in 5th place with a 9-2-11 record for 38 points. Only two losses was second best in the league but their ranking was hurt by too many ties. Their quarterfinal game will be a road trip to either Windsor or Montreal depending on the final CSL game of the season--a make up game on Wednesday between TFC Academy and Montreal Impact Academy.
