MORIN'S LATE GOAL GIVES MONTREAL VICTORY OVER KINGSTON FC A late strike by Montreal Impact Academy midfielder Dominique Morin gave his side a 2- 1 come-from-behind victory over Kingston FC, while Windsor Stars held Toronto Croatia to a 1-1 tie and Brantford Galaxy battled to a 1-1 tie with St. Catharines Wolves, three games in the CSL First Division Saturday. Kingston’s Mademba Ba opened the scoring at the CaraCo Home Field Invista Centre in Kingston, he took a pass from Edgar Soglo to slot the ball into the bottom left corner of the net past Montreal goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu at the 32nd minute mark, a 1-0 lead at the break. Montreal defender Maxim Tissot scored the equalizer at 73 minutes and Morin put the ball past Kingston goalkeeper Shane Lopez at 88 minutes for the winning goal, a 2-1 score in favour of Montreal at the final whistle. Montreal Impact Academy improve to a 6-3-5 WLT record for 23 points, while Kingston are at 3-13-1 for 10 points. Following a hard-fought scoreless first half at Windsor Stadium, midfielder Alexander Rickett gave Windsor a 1-0 lead at the 49th minute mark. Toronto Croatia came back to score six minutes later, a goal by Endelo Srzentic and there were few opportunities for either side during the remainder of the game which ended 1-1. Windsor’s Chad Stuecher was shown the red card by referee Armando Pereira at 83 minutes following a second caution. Toronto Croatia hold second place in the First Division standings, they have a 9-1-5 record for 32 points, while Windsor Stars are at 7-5-4 for 25 points. St. Catharines Wolves took the lead against Brantford Galaxy when Scott MacLennan scored from the penalty spot following a foul inside the box at the 16th minute mark and it was 1-0 at the interval. Thomas Hughes of St. Catharines was shown the red card by referee Mike Dogar for dissent to a match official and at 76 minutes Brantford’s Ranko Golijanin scored from 10 yards after picking up the rebound following a save by St. Catharines goalkeeper Claudio Perri – he failed to hold a shot from Chris Leko. St. Catharines lost a second player when Camilo Veloza was shown the red card at 83 minutes – judged by referee Dogar to be Violent Conduct. The game ended 1-1. Brantford Galaxy pick-up a point in the standings following a three-game losing streak, they now have a 8-6-1 record for 25 points, while St. Catharines are at 1-11-3 for six points.
