TORONTO CROATIA BACK ON TOP....SHOOTERS, SC WATERLOO ALSO REGISTER WINS SUNDAY 

A first half strike by Tihomir Maletic gave Toronto Croatia a 1-0 victory and top
position in an ever-changing CSL standings, while York Region Shooters cruised 
to an easy 6-2 win over Kingston FC and SC Waterloo slammed Brantford Galaxy 5-0, 
three games in the CSL First Division Sunday.

It was the ninth goal of the season for Maletic in an evenly contested, rough encounter 
played at Victoria Park in Brampton, the Croatia striker who back-heeled the ball into 
the net past Brampton goalkeeper Euloge Awitor at 22 minutes following a passing play 
that started on the edge of the box.

Brampton played most of the second half short handed after Merko Medic was ejected 
by referee David Barrie at 51 minutes after the home team defender picked 
up a second caution.

Toronto Croatia return to the top of the First Division with an 8-1-3 WLT record 
for 27 points, while Brampton are in eighth place with a 5-4-3 record for 18 points.

York Region Shooters moved closer to being in contention for First Division honours 
with an easy victory over Kingston FC at the St. Joan of Arc ground in Maple and it was 
midfielder Matthew O`Connor who opened the scoring for the home side at 9 minutes, 
Kadian Lecky made it 2-0 at 18 minutes, midfielder Des Humphrey increased the lead 
to 3-0 at 21 minutes,  his first of two in the game.

Edgar Sogio of Kingston scored to make it 3-1 at 29 minutes and Alex Trujillo struck 
for the home side just before the break for a 4-1 score at half-time.

Humphrey scored his second at 57 minutes to increase the Shooters lead to 5-1, 
Vitaliy Sidorov of Kingston found the net at 57 minutes for a 5-2 score and midfielder 
Christian Jackman for York Region rounded the scoring at 89 minutes for a 6-2 score 
at the final whistle.

York Region Shooters improve to a 6-1-7 record for 25 points, good for 4th position 
in the standings, while Kingston are at 3-10-1 for 10 points.

SC Waterloo took control of an injury-depleted Brantford Galaxy at Lions Park in Brantford 
following an even first half in which SC Waterloo took the lead at 31 minutes on a goal 
by Vladimir Zelenbaba for a 1-0 score at the interval. Zelenbaba drove the ball from 
30 yards off the post to score and at 54 minutes and Adis Hasecic scored from 6 yards 
off a free kick to make it 2-0 for the visitors.

Drazan Vukovic scored goal number 10 for the season at 75 minutes for a 3-0 score, 
a chip from 6 yards, Shawn Brown closed in from the left wing to find the net from 
close in at 81 minutes for 4-0 and substitute Edward Syllie scored the fifth goal 
at 85 minutes, a 5-0 final.

SC Waterloo now have 18 points from a 6-7-0 record, while Brantford Galaxy are at 8-4-0 for 24 points.
