LONDON CITY RECOVER TO TIE ST. CATHARINES 2-2....overcome first half deficit London City fought back from a 2-0 first half deficit to tie St. Catharines Wolves 2-2 in a hard fought encounter at Club Roma, St. Catharines, the only game scheduled in the CSL Wednesday. St. Catharines took the lead on an own goal tipped into the net past London goalkeeper Vladimir Markotic at the 26th minute mark and the home side increased the lead to 2-0 three minutes later on a goal by midfielder Calvin Rosario. He scored from close range and it was 2-0 at the break. London City fought back in the second half to be rewarded with a goal from midfielder Jasmin Halkic at 73 minutes and in the 10 minutes following, the visitors lost two players ordered off by referee Justin Tasev. London forward Ranko Golijanin was the first to go when shown the red card following a second caution at 80 minutes, then two minutes later Rade Novkovic received a red for serious foul play. London continued to press for an equalizer and the goal came at 89 minutes when defender Nenad Nikolic found the net from a well-struck free kick out of reach of St. Catharines goalkeeper Claudio Perri. Perri was ejected by referee Tasev in the dying minutes and it was 2-2 at the final whistle. St. Catharines Wolves remain in 15th position following the tie, they have a 1-7-1 WLT record for 4 points, while London City improve to a 1-4-5 record for 8 points and move up to 11th position in the standings.
