UNBEATEN TORONTO CROATIA GO FIVE POINTS CLEAR WITH SATURDAY VICTORY...Niagara United recover to win Toronto Croatia scored a 2-0 victory over Montreal Impact Academy and in doing so handed the Quebec side their first defeat of the season, while in an earlier game, Niagara United scored a 2-1 come-from-behind win over SC Waterloo, two games in the CSL First Division Saturday. Toronto Croatia striker Tihomir Maletic opened the scoring at Centennial Stadium when he took advantage of a defensive lapse to beat Montreal goalkeeper Francesco Augustin from close in at the 24th minute mark and it was 1-0 at half-time. Marin Vucemilovic Grgic made it 2-0 for the home side at 72 minutes when he hit a low drive into the net from 16 yards and the 2-0 held until the final whistle. Toronto Croatia jump five points clear in the standings following the win and are the only unbeaten team in the CSL First Division following Saturday's result, which follows a first season loss by previously unbeaten Serbian White Eagles Friday and SC Toronto on June 15. Niagara United overcame a 1-0 first half deficit in their game against SC Waterloo at Kalar Park, the visiting team scoring first at 27 minutes when O’Neil Spencer found the net from the penalty spot and it was 1-0 for Waterloo at the break. Niagara had numerous chances to score in the second half and responded with two goals, at 76 minutes by Matt Waddington and again two minutes later when Lucas Folino struck the winner from a breakaway, a 2-1 final score.
