VUKOVIC VS VUKOVIC FRIDAY ......the CSL's weekend schedule When Stefan Vukovic won the 2011 scoring title while playing for TFC Academy in Canada’s toughest league, it was small wonder he was considered one of the brightest un-capped prospects in Canada. After blazing a trail in goalscoring week after week, Vukovic eventually showed up for a 2012 season training session with the Toronto FC first squad. But soon after, abruptly, the 19 year-old was released and picked up by Montreal Impact for their 2012 under-21 academy team. Stefan Vukovic is still scoring regularly – for the Quebec-based side - and he’ll be in the line-up at Centennial Stadium Friday against Serbian White Eagles, his original club before being signed by TFC Academy. The game Friday has an interesting twist to it. When Vukovic takes the field against his old club his dad, Sasa Vukovic, will be assistant coach of the home side. Sasa Vukovic was a standout player in the former Yugoslavia where he first played for OFK Titograd then in the Montenegro First Division with FK Mladost Podgorica. In Canada he played for St Catharines Roma in the early nineties, Toronto Italia of the NSL in 1994 and with Serbian White Eagles in 1995. He was one of the original players in the Toronto Shooting Stars of the indoor NPSL. Friday night, it's Vukovic vs. Vukovic – a 9 pm kickoff. Kingston FC’s home ground at the Invista Sports Complex has changed its name to CaraCo Home Field, named after the local family-owned property management company and Kingston’s largest home builder. It’s a sponsorship arrangement that reflects the company’s dedication to the Kingston community.
