Attendance was about 300 on this hot, humid, overcast evening. There'd been a threat of rain all day and it did rain starting at 37 minutes but stopping for the rest of the evening about 3 minutes later. Many fans had brought umbrellas or were under the shelter of the press box but the threat might have killed off much of the walk up crowd.

This was a game between two of the remaining three undefeated teams in the league. White Eagles had beaten the previously unbeaten SC Toronto on Friday night leaving just these two teams and Montreal Impact Academy.

Both teams had chances to score but couldn't get the ball into the net. Antonio Ilic earned the shutout for Croatia and Milos Durkovic equaled him for White Eagles.

Best non-scoring chances were at 24 minutes when TC Marin Vucemilovic Grgic crossed from 15 yards on the left end line and had TC Tihomir Maletic take a midair overhead kick from 10 yards that went over the net. 30 minutes had Vucemilovic Grgic take a freekick near the left cornerflag and SWE Boris Milicic headed the ball away. TC Petar Mingon followed up blasting the 25 yard rebound up the middle that the goalie fisted away from 6 yards through a crowd of players. 39 minutes and Maletic took a 40 yard freekick from the right which bounced past some charging TC players but TC Josip Keran at 5 yards on the left post chipped a 5 yard shot over the net. 63 minutes had SWE Ramon Bailey at 30 yards pass the ball forward and right to SWE Zoran Rajovic who cut toward goal and had his 8 yard shot hit the right post. Two minutes later TC Hayden Fitzwilliams on the left at 10 yards rolled the ball back to center and Vucemilovic Grgic shot a 12 yarder high and wide right of top corner of the net. 69 minute Maletic took a 22 yard freekick from the right that had the goalie on the short side palm the ball over the net.

TC players Maletic and Vucemilovic Grgic had many other chances too but White Eagles have only allowed two goals so far this season in six games. TC leads the league in scoring with 23 goals in seven games.

The referee was Allan Rouch who'd come all the way from British Columbia. He gave out his first three Yellows to SWE players and then two to TC players throughout the game.

Although both teams call this stadium home, Toronto Croatia was considered the home team tonight. With the schedule broken into 'east' and 'west' although only one table, these teams only play one regular season game against each other. I'm sure this was done to cool any ethnic tension they might anticipate but there were no problems at all and I'd look forward to another match (maybe a playoff meeting).

Standing published after the five games played today have Croatia with 17 points in 7 games and White Eagles with 14 points in 6 games.
