SERBIAN EAGLES REMAIN UNBEATEN, Mississauga Eagles win 3-0 and it's a 2-2 tie at Cove Road Serbian White Eagles remain unbeaten with a 2-0 defeat of SC Toronto, Mississauga Eagles FC scored a 3-0 home victory over Kingston FC and York Region Shooters scored a goal in added time to salvage a 2-2 tie with London City, three games in the CSL Friday night. Serbian White Eagles and SC Toronto went into Friday night’s game at Centennial Stadium both unbeaten, so the victory for Serbian Eagles was an important one in a tough contest that saw the home side’s Viktor Anastasov open the scoring at 25 minutes with a low shot from 14 yards. It was 1-0 at the break. Serbian White Eagles scored a second goal at 64 minutes with good play by Zoran Rajovic who fed a pass to forward Richard West to find the net from 5 yards. Serbian White Eagles lost La Dweyne Anderson at 90 minutes when cautioned a second time in the game to be shown a red card by referee Richard Oliviera. It was close in the early stages at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga until Mississauga Eagles FC centre back Thomas McLean headed in off a corner kick 32 minutes to put the home side in the lead and just six minutes later midfielder Matthew Macri made it 2-0, the score at half-time. Jose Melo increased the lead to 3-0 at the 77th minute mark when he beat Kingston FC goalkeeper Keyan Cassis and while the visitors pressed to reduce the lead Mississauga Eagles FC were much in control for a 3-0 score at the final whistle. London City took an early 1-0 lead at 11 minutes in their game with York Region Shooters at Cove Road, a goal from the penalty spot by defender Rade Novkovic who put the ball in the net off a rebound following a save by York Region goalkeeper Emanuelle Ameltonis. Chris Thomas equalized for the Shooters at the 42nd minute mark and it was 1-1 at the break. London City forward Boban Stojanovic put his side in a 2-1 lead at 60 minutes and just when it appeared London were heading for the win, Ryan Dummett struck for York Region at 91 minutes to level the score 2-2.
