BRAMPTON, KINGSTON, MONTREAL ACADEMY AND LONDON SECURE SUNDAY VICTORIES 

Brampton City Utd,  Montreal Impact Academy, Kingston FC and London City 
all registered wins in busy Canadian Soccer League action Sunday.

Montreal Impact striker Stefan Vukovic, scored for the third game 
in succession to give his side a 1-0 victory over TFC Academy at the 
St Jean de Vianney ground in Montreal. The goal was scored against 
his old club when at 48 minutes he found the net past TFC Academy 
goalkeeper Angelo Cavalluzzo.

Montreal midfielder Zakaria Messoudi crossed the ball to Vukovic from 
the right wing and the prolific striker scored from 18 yards.

TFC fought back following the goal, but in the second half the Quebec 
side had a noticeable edge through to the final whistle.

Defender Zvonko Bakula put London City one-up at 32 minutes in the game 
against North York Astros at Esther Shiner Stadium,  a 1-0 lead at half-time 
and Kunle Fayehun tied the score 1-1 for the Astros two minutes into 
the second half.

London went ahead at 55 minutes on a goal by midfielder Nenad Begovic and 
Ranko Golijanin increased the lead for the visitors to 3-1 at 73 minutes, 
a strong drive from 20 yards into the roof of the net out of reach 
of North York goalkeeper Antal Toth.

Forward David Nagy reduced the lead for the Astros at 89 minutes, a 3-2 
final score in favour of London City.

At Victoria Park, Brampton City Utd took control of their game with 
a goal at the 5th minute by David Velastagui. He collected a back header 
from Mark Jankovic to drive the ball into the top corner of the net well 
out of the reach of St. Catharines goalkeeper Claudio Perri.

The home side made it 2-0 at 41 minutes when Milos Scepanovic directed 
a pass from forward Judah Hernandez into the corner of the net – it was 
Scepanovic’s first goal in a Brampton uniform.

Brampton midfielder Andy Garcia increased the lead to 3-0 from a free 
kick at 51 minutes and at the 63rd minute Scepanovic scored his second 
and Brampton’s fourth with a curling shot into the top corner, 
a 4-0 final score.

Kingston FC nipped SC Waterloo 1-0 at the Seagram Stadium in Waterloo 
for their second win in a week following the 3-2 defeat of Brampton City 
Utd on May 27. Kingston defender Ryan McCurdy beat Waterloo goalkeeper 
Ryan Paumier for the goal at the 51st minute mark. He found the net 
after collecting a long clearance and the goal held up until 
the final whistle.
