FIRST-TIME FORWARD BEN N'GORAN STRIKES WINNER .....come-from-behind victory for Niagara United Niagara’s Derek Paterson scored the equalizer Rookie forward Ben N’Goran scored a late winner to give Niagara United their first win in the CSL First Division, a 2-1 victory over Windsor Stars at Kalar Park in the only game in the CSL Saturday night. N’Goran, 19, was brought up from the Niagara United reserve team following injuries to first string players and the move was a timely one with the game heading for a 1-1 tie he found the net past Windsor goalkeeper Anthony Santilli at 87 minutes to give the Niagara club its first victory in professional soccer. Windsor took the lead at the 12th minute mark when midfielder David Kadoic scored from the penalty spot, a penalty awarded by referee Yusri Rudolf following a foul inside the 18 yard line. It was 1-0 at the break. The home side tied it up at 48 minutes on a goal by forward Derek Paterson, also from the penalty spot following an infringement in the box. “It was a great first win for our team and I’m pleased for Ben who scored twice in a recent reserve team game and deserved the chance to be moved up early – he scored a big one for us tonight", said head coach James McGillivray following the final whistle. There has been a switch of venue in Montreal for Sunday’s clash between the two CSL academy teams. The Montreal Impact Academy vs. TFC Academy game is moved to the St Jean de Vianney ground from the Claude Robillard Stadium where the surface has been affected by heavy rain. The 2 pm kickoff remains the same.
