48 min...TFC Soolsma intercepts clearance by HD Robinson at 30 yards on right and runs past Robinson and cuts into box where pursueing HD Haninault clips his ankle tripping him up and he is awarded a Penalty kick from referee Jorge Gonzalez.
49 min...TFC Joao Plata GOAL...Plata blasts Penalty kick to top left side of net over goalie Tally Hall who guessed correctly but too low.

Attendance was announced as 20259. This game certainly had the mildest weather of any game this season with a bright sun in the north west.

TFC forward Joao Plata was given his first league start this year. He had impressed with the work he did during the two Nutrilife Canadian Championship games against FC Edmonton. He was cheered on his announcement as a starter to the time he left the field at 90 minutes by the 50% of the crowd who stayed until the end of the game. He is an international from Ecuador and is only 19 years old.

Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was Joao Plata who scored the Penalty kick and assisted on the other goal and was again the fastest man on the field. Before the game Julian de Guzman was named the Esquire (watch company) Player of the Month for his community work.

This was the first TFC win in league play since their win in their home opener against Portland on March 26th. That was a total of six games between those victories and four of them at home.
