Halftime Entertainment:...The entertainment today was the Carlsberg Throw-in contest where two teams of two took throw-ins into a group of garbage cans. These were about the worst contestants ever selected as they made only four 'baskets' in the two minute time limit.

Attendance was announced as 22453, which we were informed was a sellout.

This was the first time in the five seasons of the MLS David Beckham signing that he played a regular season game in Toronto. He has always been either injured or on loan in Europe when the Galaxy have made their previous visits to Toronto. I did get to see him in the MLS All Stars game held in Toronto in 1998 when they played West Ham United 3-2. Dwayne DeRosario then playing for Houston scored the winning goal.

Beckham almost scored at 69 minutes when he took a 40 yard freekick that hit the post. This is one of three posts and bars the Galaxy hit. At 12 minutes, former TFC striker Chad Barrett hit the bar on a 25 yard shot. Former TFC defender Todd Dunivant hit the bar on a deflected shot at 60 minutes.

Beckham earned a Yellow card in this game and that adds up to five which means he'll miss the Galaxy's next game in Chicago. Good thing for us Toronto fans that he didn't draw the card in the previous game.

I was somewhat disappointed by Alen Stevanovic and Javier Martina who looked so good in the games before but this game rushed the ball good enough but lacked good shots on goal.

Man of the match (who is always a TFC player) was named as defender Adrian Cann. In a scoreless tie, I can't disagree with this choice.

The PA system turned off the music to 'O Canada' halfway through to let the fans sing the rest acapella. The player intros were read first and last names instead of last year when first name only. However it's early in the season and the fans will get to know the players if there's some stability in lineups. There are no pics of the latest players to be added in the last few weeks. The game programs have not been updated. Will we have the bio of Dwayne DeRosario listed for the rest of the year?

A quick turnaround for TFC's homestand as D.C. United are here on Saturday night for a 7:00pm start.
