Toronto FC will have its 2011 Major League Soccer home opener on Saturday when the Reds take on the expansion Portland Timbers at 2 p.m.

The Reds suffered a 4-2 season opening loss against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, but the club maintains it's heading in the right direction, pointing to the positive style that is being implemented in the new Aron Winter era.

Toronto held 66% possession and registered 13 shots against Vancouver but costly turnovers and individual lapses led to the Whitecaps capitalizing on their chances. Dwayne De Rosario and Maicon opened their accounts for Toronto, but the Reds must enjoy a stronger overall performance if they are to make the most of their forward thinking 4-3-3 formation.

Portland is also coming off a two-goal defeat, losing 3-1 to MLS Cup champion Colorado on Saturday. The Timbers enjoyed five shots and a goal from Toronto nemesis Kenny Cooper, although they saw less of the ball in possession at 46%.
