CHARLESTON, South Carolina - Toronto FC returned to training on Monday morning after having the full day off on Sunday. The team opened training with an emphasis on ball work and moving into space.  Following that the team participated in an 11-on-11 full field game where focus shifted to the formation and movements both with and without the ball.

“I don’t think we are completely ready, we have a lot of things to do but the position game that we’re playing is getting better and better,” said Toronto FC first assistant coach and assistant technical director Bob de Klerk. “In training sessions we keep telling the players what we want, step by step. You can’t expect in six weeks that we will play like Barcelona so it takes time and during the season you will see it will become better.”

Academy player Keven Aleman was also sporting a new look at training. The 16 year old parted ways with his long locks in favour a buzzed look.

Toronto continue their preseason with their second match of the Carolina Challenge Cup on Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m. ET against the host club, Charleston Battery. The game will be streamed live on TorontoFC.ca.
