SC TORONTO MAINTAIN A HOT PACE WHILE SERBIAN EAGLES ALSO WIN FRIDAY

SC Toronto kept up a hot pace with their 18th win of the season, a 3-1 defeat of London City in the CSL Friday night and in one other game, Serbian
White Eagles improved their chances for a playoff berth with a 2-1 victory over TFC Academy.

London City took the lead at Cove Road when forward Sean Alden struck his first goal in the CSL at the 4-minte mark, he found the net from close
in past Toronto goalkeeper Scott Cliff.

The visitors bounced back just seven minutes later when David Guzman equalized with a free kick from 20 yards, a drive that left London goalkeeper
Fabian Knezevic with little chance, the score at 1-1.

SC Toronto forward Jarek Whiteman scored his ninth of the season to put his team ahead 2-1 at 29 minutes and it was an own goal that gave the league
leaders a 3-1 lead at 70 minutes with the Toronto’s Antonio Zupan involved in the play.

SC Toronto stretch their lead at the top of the First Division standings with a 18-2-2 WLT record for 56 points from 22 games played, seven points ahead
of second place Toronto Croatia which has one game in hand.

It was a close encounter at Lamport Stadium where forward Alex Braletic put Serbian White Eagles in front at the 5th minute mark, a left foot low drive
that beat TFC Academy goalkeeper Chad Bush. It was Braletic’s ninth goal of the season and it was 1-0 at the break.

TFC Academy were on level terms at the 55th minute mark when Tristan Jackman found the net from the penalty spot after the home side’s Stefan Vukovic
was brought down and referee Manuel Orellana had no hesitation in making the call.

Midfielder Kirie Dimitrov scored the winning goal for Serbian White Eagles at 71 minutes, a 2-1 result at the final whistle.

It was an important win, giving the visitors their 10th victory of the season, a 10-5-7 record for 37 points, good for fifth place in the standings
