WINDSOR STARS NIP BRAMPTON 1-0 WHILE MONTREAL IMPACT ACADEMY SPOIL MISSISSAUGA EAGLES HOME OPENER 3-1 Sunday, May 15, 2011 Windsor Stars gained their first win of their inaugural CSL season with a 1-0 result over Brampton City Utd, while Montreal Impact Academy gained their second win of the campaign, a 3-1 victory over Mississauga Eagles FC, both games in the Canadian Soccer League Saturday night. It was a penalty kick that decided the game at Windsor Stadium after referee pointed to the spot following a foul inside the 18 yard line and it was The Stars’ Danny Dragoi who scored the goal at the 19th minute mark. Windsor were reduced to 10 men when midfielder Ciprian Codea entered the game as a substitute but was shown the red card shortly afterwards at 40 minutes by referee Geoff Gamble for serious foul play. Brampton carried the play for a good part of the second half but were unable to beat Anthony Santilli in the Windsor goal and the score remained 1-0 in favour of the home side. Montreal Impact`s Kevin Leduca opened the scoring at 43 minutes at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, the home opener of the season for Mississauga Eagles FC and just three minutes later Allessandro Riggi made it 2-0 for the visitors. Andrew Ornoch struck for Mississauga at the 61st minute mark to reduce the lead, but just three minutes later Montreal midfielder Wandrille Lefevre increased the lead to 3-1 and the score held until the final whistle.
