Attendance was announced as 20172. The game started off with less than 50% full because of the 'pat down' that people were getting upon arrival to check for smuggled alcohol. Toronto FC was serving a one game suspension of selling beer because of an incident last year when beer was served to a minor. The penalty served today cost the team thousands of dollars. I enjoyed the game because there were less people walking my row passing my near aisle seat buying beer and using the bathroom.
The Carlsberg (brewery) Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was Dwayne DeRosario who scored the TFC goal today. At the start of the game, Nana Attakora was named as the Esquire (watches) Player of the Month.
Both teams were in today's game missing a few players at the Gold Cup. TFC midfielder Sam Cronin is on the USA team and newly signed forward Ali Gerba is playing for Canada. Dynamo were missing midfielder Stuart Holden and forward Brian Ching both on the USA team and defender Andrew Hainault on the Canadian team. They were also missing defender Richard Mulrooney with a knee injury.
Fans chanted "Get a haircut" to the strangely coiffed Kei Kamara.
Dynamo are the first place team in the entire league and lead the Western Division. The problem for TFC is they don't have many home games left and today's tie knocked them from a tie for first place to fourth in the competitive Eastern Division.
