Attendance was not announced but the league listed it as 20478. Finally some nice weather to watch a soccer game! The rain had stopped before game time.
The Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was forward Dwayne DeRosario. He scored one goal and Amato Guevara had two. It was Guevara who was named the MLS Player of the Week a few days later.
Both teams had problems with stringing passes together. Another pregame rain had made the field wet.
TFC scores more than one goal at home for the first time this season. It was also a come from behind victory. They left Pablo Vitti on the bench when the game started. He hasn't scored a goal this year. After a victory like this and the coach's policy, there's no reason to change this lineup!
TFC defender Nana Attakora-Gyan is now listed as Nana Attakora on the league website.
Revs did not have their big star forward Taylor Twellman for this game. Shalrie Joseph and Steve Ralston are actually midfielders but were pushed into service in that role.
It is also announced that the TFC Academy is playing at nearby Lamport Stadium at 7:00pm tonight and everyone who brings their ticket stub can get into this CSL game for only $5.00. (message board reports I read later said not many people took up the team's offer). After the game I immediately drove to the Ontario Soccer Centre to see the W-League game between Toronto Lady Lynx and London Gryphons.
This was a very important win for TFC as it comes at the end of a home stand and a good recovery from last week's home loss against Chicago Fire. There will be times this season when the team plays only one home game an entire month.
Next up for TFC is finally going on the road for a game next Saturday against Houston. Their next home game is Saturday June 6th at 3:30pm against Los Angeles Galaxy. No David Beckham again this year.
