MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER QUOTE SHEET
SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2009 -- TORONTO FC 1, COLUMBUS CREW 1

TORONTO FC INTERIM HEAD COACH CHRIS CUMMINS

On the team's performance:
"I think first half we didn't have enough energy, we talk about we want to play football, and how we're gonna play football, we've had a lot of games now in such a short space and it's important that the lads that are out there play the conditions. It was beautiful sunshine when we went out and all of a sudden the heaven's opened up and we were still played 'tippy-tappy' football in the wrong areas. I thought we did a bit better second half we started getting balls in the right areas and we got Amado [Guevara] a little more upfield and we showed more quality."

On Stefan Frei's play:
"Stef's a fantastic young 'keeper -- he's got a bright future ahead of him. I think he was on for keeping the longest clean sheet for so many minutes -- but let me tell you he'll get it again. Stef comes up with big saves for us and for a young lad he's got a terrific head on his shoulders."

TORONTO FC MIDFIELDER CARL ROBINSON

On if the game was a bit of a battle:
"It was yes, we knew it wasn't going to be easy -- Columbus had yet to win a game, they're a good team obviously they won the league and title last year and they still have the majority of their players so we knew it was going to be tough. We huffed and puffed in the first half -- second half we got a grip of the game, especially after they went one goal ahead. But it shouldn't take us to go a goal behind before we start putting our mark on the game, but that's what happened."

TORONTO FC FORWARD CHAD BARRETT

On the goal:
"I think he (the 'keeper) was depending on Chad Marshall winning the ball, because he wins every one of them, but Sammy [Cronin] sent an inch-perfect cross in and I really didn't have to do too much -- he made it really easy for me."

TORONTO FC GOALKEEPER STEFAN FREI

On his activity during the game:
"No, I prefer the quiet games actually, the ones where I don't have to make too many saves at all. But, I had a couple of shots on frame and had to make some saves and I was able to make them."

COLUMBUS CREW HEAD COACH ROBERT WARZYCHA

On the game:
"I think when we were in Chicago, Colorado we had a number of chances too. It's just that it's frustrating that we got that goal again from inside the six. I mean we played a decent game, I think we played very good, if you look at the stats we had 17 shots on goal to five for Toronto and I think we moved the ball pretty well. I think there was a lot of commitment from the guys -- we just should have done better in front of the box.

"You know we have to take something positive from this game. I think there seems like a group comes together and playing pretty good and the next game is at home so hopefully we going to finish our chances."

COLUMBUS CREW GOALKEEPER ANDY GRUENEBAUM

On the game:
"Obviously this is a very tough place to play. Normally I think on any given day we would have been thrilled with the tie. I feel disappointed, you know everyone expected to win so it was a weird game as far as weather. You know the first half was crazy and then it cleared up and then I think the wind was at my back for both halves -- it was just a weird game."
