Toronto FC coach Chris Cummins is waiting on the fitness of Adrian Serioux before deciding on the line-up to face D.C. United at RFK Stadium on Saturday night (kick off 7:30 p.m. live on Rogers Sportsnet).

Serioux missed the 1-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps in the opening game of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship on Wednesday and has been receiving treatment as he fights to recover in time for the clash in Washington.

"Adrian is the only doubt at the moment," said Cummins after training Thursday. "He just jarred his neck and back a bit when he headed the ball in the match against Columbus on Saturday. He's fighting even more to get back having seen young Nana Attakora play so well against Vancouver. He came in Thursday morning to get some treatment so we will wait and see how he is."

Midfielder Sam Cronin also missed the Whitecaps match but trained Thursday and Cummins expects him to be available for selection. "Sam has got loads of energy and it's important that we manage him properly. He's been outstanding so far this season so it was important that I didn't take a risk with him or any of the other players, explained Cummins. "He just felt his hamstring tighten up earlier in the week but he trained Thursday and told me he is feeling fine and is ready for the weekend. I've got no issues with Sam and if he's fit there's a fair chance he will start." The team leaves for D.C. on Friday morning.
