Canadian Championship starts Wednesday
Reds take on Vancouver Whitecaps at BMO Field

The second season of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship begins on Wednesday night at BMO Field when Toronto FC take on United Soccer League team Vancouver Whitecaps. Kick off is 8:00 p.m. live on Rogers Sportsnet.

Season Seat Holders are reminded that the two home games in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship (Vancouver Whitecaps on May 6 and Montreal Impact on May 13) are included in the season ticket package. The tickets for the games can be found on the bottom right corner of the Season Seat Holder tickets poster.

Montreal Impact won the tournament last year and went on to represent Canada in the CONCACAF Champions League making it all the way to the semi-final before being beaten by Santos of Mexico. The Reds lost to 1-0 Vancouver on July 1st at BMO Field with a first half penalty from Martin Nash the only goal of the game. The return fixture at Swangard Stadium finished 2-2 with TFC goals from Mo Edu and Rohan Ricketts. Toronto were four minutes away from victory when Eduardo Sebrango scored his second goal of the night to tie the match.

The Whitecaps arrive in Toronto having claimed their first road win of the new season on Saturday night when they beat Minnesota Thunder 3-2. Vancouver are second in the USL First Division with eight points from their first five matches. They will join Major League Soccer in 2011.
