Portugal FC ended their regular season with a 1-0 victory over London City at Lamport Stadium Friday night, the first of a full slate of games in the CSL this weekend that sees all teams playing their last league game before the playoffs get underway the weekend September 25 – 27.

Portugal FC is one of eight teams in the playoffs and their opposition and venue will be determined by the outcome of the games being played during the remainder of this final weekend of the regular league season.

Midfielder Jaime Carvalho struck the lone goal for the home side when he took a pass from the left wing to find the net from close range at the 76th minute mark.

The victory elevates Portugal from eighth to six place in the overall standings and while that may change during the next two days the Toronto west-end team will play one of the top four during the weekend of September 25.

Portugal ended their regular league campaign fourth in the International Division with a 5-5-8 WLT record for 23 points,

London completed a disappointing season with a 1-15-2 record for just five points. They finished at the foot of the National Division and were eliminated from the playoffs two weeks ago.
