LATE HEADER GIVES PORTUGAL FC A POINT IN 2-2 TIE WITH STILL UNDEFEATED TORONTO CROATIA......TFC Academy and St. Catharines Wolves play to 1-1 deadlock

A perfectly placed header by player-coach Danny Amaral in added time gave Portugal FC a 2-2 tie and well-earned point against unbeaten Toronto Croatia at Brockton Stadium and that followed a 1-1 result between TFC Academy and St. Catharines Wolves, two games in the CSL Sunday.
Portugal took the lead on a goal by midfielder Ramon Bailey, his fifth of the season, just two minutes into the game against the International Division leaders. Bailey made no mistake from the penalty spot after a hand ball infringement inside the box was called by referee Geoff Gamble.
Croatia defender Sven Arapovic scored an equalizer at 18 minutes for a 1-1 tie at the interval.
Toronto Croatia took the lead on a goal by forward Tihomir Maletic at the 81st minute mark before Amaral beat Croatia goalkeeper Sandi Matika for the equalizer and a 2-2 final score.
Toronto Croatia lead the International Division with a 6-0-2 WLT record for 20 points, while Portugal FC are at 2-2-4 for 10 points in the same division.
St. Catharines Wolves opened the scoring at Downsview Park on a goal by defender Joseph Delpriore who beat Academy goalkeeper Soitiri Varlokostas at the 51st minute mark following a well-played scoreless first half.
TFC Academy equalized on a goal at 60 minutes by forward Andre Verdugo who found the net from close range after Wolves failed to clear inside the penalty box.
TFC Academy pressed for a winner during the last 20 minutes but the score held at 1-1 to lift both teams to 12 points in the National Division. St. Catharines have a 3-1-3 record and TFC are now at 3-2-3.
