Halftime entertainment: In the north west corner for the first time! One fan got one chance to kick a ball 25 yard into the back of a KIA SUV with its rear hatch open. He missed.
The TFC Academy players came out to the field to take a bow. They play in the CSL league and the CSL Reserves league. The teenagers then ran over to the south east corner for salutes from the south enders. I wonder where these fans were during CSL games this year? I saw them play eight CSL games this year.

Attendance was announced as 20294. The game did start with a lot of empty seats as usual which I can only really understand for weeknight games because of fighting the traffic and people coming directly after work. I think the crowd was more than their last home game three weeks ago partly because the weather was nicer with cool weather but no threat of rain. Also the team was still mathematically in the playoff race although they'd have to wait until the results of other games were played later in the day to see if they were still in the running. (later games in the day eliminated them). This was the first home win for TFC since June 14th and included games against MLS teams, Canadian USL teams and international friendlies.
The Carlsberg Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was Hunter Freeman which was far better than his last game when he had an own goal. This is expected to be his last home game with TFC as he's going to Europe as soon as the season is over. He's only played a few months for TFC after coming over in a trade with New York Red Bulls.
Today's game was the last MLS game for referee's assistant Amato DeLuca and I found that out when I saw him in the crowd at the CSL semi-final game last night in North York. Age requirements have pushed him out.
After the game the TFC players and coaching staff walked the circumferance of the field to applaud the crowd. They did this at the end of last year too and it was a nice touch to give everyone a close up not just the south side stands. Security forces were out in force to prevent a pitch invasion like last year. A reserve game was scheduled for right after the regular game and even with the walkaround it only started half hour later than scheduled.
The first 10000 fans received a black TFC touque from KIA Motors. The temperature did fall and I was glad to have it on during the Reserves game.
The travelling Fire fans had to wait until the stadium was almost empty then were led from the north east corner to the south west exit.
