Attendance was announced as 19863. At the start of the game it was the most empty seats I'd ever seen for a weekend game but it did fill in during the first half. Still I'd say there were quite a few empty seats. Some of the fans might have skipped the game as TFC was missing nine regulars; most of them away on national team duty with various countries.
The Carlsberg Man of the Match (who is always a TFC player) was named as Tyler Rosenlund. Since frequent winner Carl Rosinson was away at the World Cup qualifier for Wales, there had to be another winner.

Chivas USA was short of players with defender Shavar Thomas and midfielder Sacha Kljestan away on international duty. Claudio Suarez, Carey Talley, Jesse Marsch were inured even though they were listed as subs. Midfielder Raphael Wicky was also listed as injured and forward Atiba Harris who scored last week's winning goal between the two teams was serving a suspension today.
TFC officials had tried to get this game rescheduled but MLS wouldn't allow it. This extreme example did get some comments from the league office that next year's scheduling would try to avoid conflicts with FIFA international dates.
Toronto had to bring in players for this game to have a defensive line. Tim Regan is actually the team scout. Diaz Kambere was on a one game loan from the USL Vancouver Whitecaps. Rick Titus is a fixture in this city although he has MLS experience. He played for the PDL Toronto Lynx and the CSL Italia Shooters (semi-pro) for which I saw him play a full game with last night. (I thought that club team would have given him the night off so he could rest/prepare for the MLS game). Also reading the papers later it appears he also plays for "Real Toronto" from a league I don't follow and would play on Sunday. The article also said he designated as an 'amateur' so meant he wouldn't be paid for the TFC game.
It was an entertaining game and the early lead of TFC gave early optimism. The trading of Red cards just before halftime meant TFC were without any regular defenders and that fact showed with TFC giving up goals in the second half although the third one was partially explained by TFC pushing for a tieing goal in injury time.
